1 You and your friend are supposed
to go see a movie you’ve
been dying to see for ages but she’s having a rough week and, wants
to stay home and watch a video. You drag her out anyway because: a) You’re dying to see the movie and besides, she promised.
b) You know that a good laugh will cheer her up.
c) You know that sitting around with a misery guts will only make both
of you feel worse.
2 Your friend buys a new pair
of jeans that don’t really
suit her. You: a) Don’t tell her because you’re too scared.
b) Don’t tell her but laugh with your other friends when she wears
them to mufti day.
c) Tell her in the nicest possible way and then offer to take them back
to the store with her and find a pair that really does suit her.
3 Your friend’s favourite band is coming to play in your
town. You’re not a total fan like her and although you could definitely
afford one, the tickets are quite expensive. You:
a) Use your savings to go with her. You know the two of you will have
a great time anyway.
b) Get her to pay half of the ticket - that way she gets a friend to go
along with.
c) Lie and tell her you have no money, so you can’t go.
4 Your friend is in the middle of a major family crisis. You: a) Let her cry on your shoulder for a couple of weeks but after that it
gets a bit boring, so you try and avoid her.
b) Make sure you’re there for her - whenever she wants to talk or
just needs cheering up.
c) Tell her all about your problems instead of listening to hers. Yours
are much worse, anyway.
5 You really don’t like your friend’s
new boyfriend. You: a) Decide to ignore your feelings and just be happy for her; after all,
you’re probably just jealous that all the attention has gone off
you.
b) Let everyone else know that you don’t like him but act like you
do to her face.
c) Drop subtle hints that you don’t really like him and hope she
dumps him.
6 The cute boy that your friend has a huge crush on asks you
out. You: a) Say no. You think he’s a bit of a hottie, but you couldn’t
do that to your friend.
b) Jump at the chance. You’ve had your eye on him for ages and you
figure all’s fair in love and war.
c) Say no but make sure you let your friend knows that he asked you out.
7 A new girl has joined your class.
You really like her but your friend doesn’t. You: a) Figure she’s probably a bit jealous so have a chat to her about
it.
b) Spend more time with the new girl. Who wants to be friends with someone
who’s packing a sad?
c) Try and ignore the issue and force them to be friends.
8 It’s nearly the weekend and you’ve promised your
friend you’d hang out together but another girl has asked you to
go with her to her bach. You: a) Tell your friend you’ve had a better offer.
b) Say sorry, you can’t go. You can’t let your friend down
like that.
c) Don’t go but feel too resentful to have a good weekend with your
friend.
9 You overhear a group of girls
saying nasty things about your friend that you know aren’t
true. You: a) Ignore them and walk away.
b) Join in.
c) Stand up for your friend and tell them they’re wrong.
10 You borrowed a top from your friend to wear out but you accidentally
ripped the sleeve being silly. You: a) Tell her someone grabbed you and ripped it.
b) Tell her the truth and offer to buy her a new one. You know you’ll
be able to have a laugh about it eventually.
c) Stitch it up and hope she doesn’t notice.

1 – 10
NOT SO NICE So, you’re not the best friend in the whole world. Maybe you should
take a look at your relationships with your friends and think about how
you could improve them. It’s really important to think about others
- being less selfish will mean that you’re a better friend. Remember:
what goes around comes around! Whether you’re nasty or nice, it
will all come back to you eventually.
11 – 20 AVERAGE ACQUAINTANCE Are you a bit of a fence-sitter? You know, it’s okay to stand up
for the people you love and for what you believe is right. Although you
care a lot about your friends, it’s important to realise that they
need your support, especially if they are going through a rough time or
someone else is bagging them. On the whole, you’re doing really
well as a buddy but could do with a little polishing up of those friendship
skills!
21 – 30 FABULOUS FRIEND! Keep up the good work! Who wouldn’t want a friend like you? You
are obviously totally aware of the value of good friends - when you stick
by them through the good times and bad, you’re really looking after
them. Your friends will appreciate your honesty and will stand by you
when you need it, too.
